When did you first consider yourself a writer?

I first considered myself to be a writer when I published my first book called Cloning Around.

How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?

I think I’ve evolved creatively because I’ve written in different genres that I wouldn’t have trusted myself to do when I first started.

What have you written so far?

I’ve written a thriller titled Cloning Around.

I’ve written a ten-book series called the Hangman Universe (HMU).

And I’ve written a science fiction novel, titled Hut-Yo Cull: The Hunt Begins.

Do you work with an outline or plot sketch, or do you prefer to let the general idea guide your writing?

Until recently, I’ve let the idea of the book guide me. But I realized that writing an outline has made things significantly easier. I no longer get confused or lost in my own story and it helps me stay on track of where I want the story to go.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

My advice to aspiring authors would be to just to get the story out of your head. Leave the editing, marketing, and anything related to post-writing, for later.

Who is your favorite character in your book and why?

My favorite character in this book is Mark because he is such a nice guy and friend that almost nothing else is more important than those things. When he’s caught in between tough situations, he lets those things guide his decisions, even if the decision is wrong.

What is your next project?

My next project is a spinoff of my favorite character in the Hangman Universe named Jericho Caine. He’s the vampire slayer, who is forced to deal with the fallout from the conclusion of The Hangman Vengeance. In Love, Lust, and Blood, we are introduced to new heroes, allies, and new love interests.

If you couldn’t be an author, what would your ideal career be?

Until I got serious about writing, I was studying Political Science at Metropolitan State University in Denver. So, I would have loved to run for political office.

Tell us something unique about you.

I was a gangster rapper for a while and made seven mixtapes.
