you told me
i would never make it,
and i have so far
to go;
but i’m not holding my breath
expecting you to believe in me
because i always had to believe in
myself and my dreams
before anyone else saw them come
true—
just know that one day
the foundation of your cruel words
will be the stepping stones
to my success
as i prove you and everyone else who ever
doubted my wings wrong
because baby i was born to fly
higher than the highest skies
who are you to tell me the sky is the limit?
i am limitless,
and one day you will see this truth as
plain as the eyes on your face.
