What inspires you to write?

What inspires me to write are the people who need it. I believe that stories can reach people in ways that ordinary words sometimes cannot. There are readers who look for comfort, hope, or even just the feeling that they are not alone, and that is what pushes me to keep writing. Whenever someone tells me that they saw themselves in my characters or that my story helped them through something, it reminds me why I started in the first place. Writing is not only for me, it is also for the people who are waiting for words that can touch their hearts.

What have you written so far?

So far, I have written several stories across different genres. Some of them are Ghost of Us, Whispers of Her Soul, Muse of Embers, The Heiress’s Sin and Salvation, Billionaire’s Obsession, Billionaire Brother’s Obsession, Back to Our Old Hometown, See You Next Summer, See You on the 2nd Floor, Nostalgia of Province, Nostalgia of the Waves, and When Sol Meets the Rain.

Do you work with an outline or plot sketch, or do you prefer to let a general idea guide your writing?

I usually only know the start and the ending of my story, but I let everything in between flow naturally. For me, this makes the story more realistic, because life itself is unpredictable. I allow the characters to guide me, to grow, and to make choices that sometimes even surprise me while I write. This process helps the story feel alive, not forced, and it also makes me connect with my characters on a deeper level. As the story develops, I grow with them, and that journey is what makes writing meaningful to me.

What advice would you give to aspiring authors?

My advice to aspiring authors is to never be afraid of starting small. Every writer begins with rough drafts, rejections, and doubts, but those are part of the journey. Write the stories that matter to you, even if you think no one will read them, because there will always be someone who needs your words. Do not rush yourself, take time to learn, and always believe that your voice as a writer is worth hearing.

Can you share a little bit about your latest book?

My latest book, although I currently have five ongoing stories in different genres, is The Heiress’s Sin and Salvation. It follows Reina, an heiress who was born and raised in a rich family. I want my readers to see what is really behind that life. Not everyone who eats with a golden spoon truly has a golden place in their family. Reina was only there to replace her dead brother’s position. Even her food and allowance had to be earned, while her parents were busy parenting the other children. She carries the heavy pressure to be perfect, especially in the eyes of parents who believe that perfection exists.

Tell us more about your main character. What inspired you to develop this character?

Honestly, my characters are inspired by real people who became part of my life. Not entirely, but some of their traits come from them. I take inspiration from real people to show that fictional characters are not just made up. They exist because the writer believes they exist, or because at some point, they did exist in our lives.

Who is your favorite character in your book and why?

From my stories, my most favorite character is Chia from Back to Our Old Hometown. She represents the kind of strength that is quiet but powerful. Chia is determined to reach her dreams even when the odds are against her, and she never hides her flaws or pretends to be perfect. What I love most about her is how she manages to show her bad side without intentionally hurting others, which makes her feel real and human. She also struggles to balance her career with the love and care she has for the people around her, and that conflict makes her inspiring. She reminds me that strength is not about being unbreakable, but about moving forward even when life feels impossible.

If your book was made into a movie, who would you cast?

If my book Ghost of Us was made into a movie, I would cast Francine Diaz or Ashtine Olviga as Miraquelle. The character gives off a stubborn and spoiled vibe, but she can also shift into being quiet, sad, and distant. Most of the time, she doesn’t speak much, yet her presence says a lot. I feel that either of them could bring out that mix of strength, vulnerability, and silence that makes Miraquelle who she is.

What is your next project?

My next project is Nostalgia of Province. It will show the simple but meaningful life in the province. The sounds of tricycles, the smell of the land, the fresh air, and the quiet mornings are all part of the story. I want to bring out the feeling of peace, warmth, and memories that come from living in a place like that.

What is one great lesson you have learned as a writer?

One great lesson I have learned as a writer is that patience is just as important as passion. At first, I thought writing was only about inspiration and talent, but I realized it is also about discipline, consistency, and learning to wait for the right moment. Every draft teaches me something new, every rejection shapes my determination, and every revision reminds me that stories grow as we grow. Writing has taught me not to rush the process, because even the struggles and pauses along the way become part of the story I am meant to tell.
