What inspires you to write?
I consider myself an inquisitive soul who’s seeking the definition of life, and everything coming in its way. Being an introvert, my aura and art is often honed by inquisitiveness I follow in solitude.
What have you written so far?
I am the author of two poetry collections: Mirror of Emotions and Across the Shore. Apart from that, I am a short story writer and columnist, having published several works in different international journals, university zines and websites around the globe.
What role does research play in your writing?
You have to read and research extensively in order to have your work polished. Otherwise, it would get shallow.
What advice would you give to aspiring authors?
I would advise them to have faith in their art. When we are new, we are a bit nervous chasing perfection, but believe me if you try to be perfect you will never write a single word. So have faith in your skills and be optimistic.
Can you share a little bit about your latest book?
The deepest of the oceans are the ones we carry within. Across The Shore seeks the answer to some of the deepest mysteries and miseries. The miscellany of poems shall take you on a quest in order to find out what we transform into on the subsequent path.
What did you enjoy most about writing this book?
Discovering life through words and reflecting on my own personality as a writer.
Is there anything you find particularly challenging in your writing?
You have to be really consistent irrespective of circumstances if you want to make it big. It’s not something you do on and off.
Who are some of your favorite authors that you feel were influential in your work?
Allama Iqbal, William Shakespeare, William Wordsworth, Robert Frost and Kahlil Gibran.
What is one great lesson you have learned as a writer?
Do what you love with a benevolent approach.
If there was one thing you could do to change the publishing and literary world, what would it be?
I would like the literary spectrum to be as diverse as possible.
