What inspires you to write?
Writing was a means to escape boredom, considering I grew up in a family where making friends was prohibited. I took solace in writing, so basically, I would say boredom inspired me to write. Moreover, my dad, of blessed memory was my muse and believed so much in me, hence the reason to bring out the best in me.
When did you first consider yourself a writer?
Well, that was about four years ago when I wrote my first book: Desire (I am yet to publish it though).
Why did you choose to write in your particular field or genre?
I had no specific reason. I guess it depends on my mood and where my imaginative mind wanders to.
Are you a full-time or part-time writer and how does that affect your writing?
I am a part time writer. Basically, I am a student. It has not been easy on me. Medical school tends to drain the life out of a person. Lol. I rarely have time for my personal affairs but nevertheless, I keep writing at my leisure time.
What are some day jobs you have held?
I had just one day job which was being a sales representative in a restaurant (my love for food took me there), but I spent just a month there due to personal reasons. And when I quit, I took up ghost writing jobs.
Do you have a special time to write, or how is your day structured to accommodate your writing?
I don’t have any special time for writing. My day starts at four a.m. During this time, I prepare my mind for the day, meditate a little, then prepare for my first class which usually commences by eight a.m. The only time I have to write is during my one- hour break.
What have you written so far?
Well, I have written two romantic suspense novels: Falling Prey To Love and Desire (it has been self-published) and one sci-fi novel. I am still writing book two of Falling Prey To Love.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
After reading a series of guides on how to self-publish, I felt I was ready to take on that bold step into the publishing world. It has not been easy, but I am glad to have taken a leap of faith.
How do you feel about indie/alternative vs. traditional publishing?
Traditional publishing isn’t so bad but with a new era, it’s quite difficult getting an agent to represent your book unless you are one popular author. This makes it difficult for new authors. Nevertheless, if given a chance I would have gone for traditional publishing at least for the sake of marketing.
Can you share with readers a little bit about your latest book?
Yes. Unmasked Mission is about Chris Wu, an android created by the Ascended to find Chloe and save her.
What he doesn’t know is that “saving her” is actually killing her and allowing her soul to go to “Heaven.”
She is a special angel, and Chris is unaware that he is an android for sometime. He discovers this from a mad scientist who realizes that Chris Wu is essentially a weapon of mass destruction. The scientist attempts to replicate him and use him for his country’s purposes.
However, Chris is determined to find out who built him, the person who holds the key to unraveling the mysteries surrounding his creation, his capabilities, and his purpose in life. Will he succeed in his quest for identity? What is the mystery surrounding his creation?
What was the hardest thing about writing your latest book?
Coming up with creative twists. It was the hardest. I had to think critically and envision each scene, played them in my mind several times to be sure I got the picture right before writing it down.
